He was the first member of EXO to be revealed. He has two older sisters. He is good friends with SHINee’s Taemin. They met before either of them were in SM. He was inspired to be a singer when he saw legendary group Shinhwa perform on TV. He asked his dad what kind of dance they were dancing and he replied “That’s a performer’s dance”. From then on he began to pursue the career as a performer.

One of his special talents is that he can solve the rubrics cube. He’s fastest time is 30 sec. He got into SM in 2008 when he was in Korea as a transfer student. He was shopping with his friends when an representative from SM scouted him. Usually trainees from China will be bullied by Korean trainees, but LuHan was an exception because he is so easy going.
